Steven & Danyelle Ayres

In June 2004 Danyelle and I picked up our first pup, a male vizsla. Danyelle aptly named the pup 'Justus,' which holds several meanings. First, Justus is phonetically similar to 'justice,' which corresponds with my field of work in law. Secondly, Justus is a name in the Bible with the attached meaning "follower of the master." Finally, Justus signifies the close relationship among our new family, as 'just us.'

Fast forward a few years and you'll find us in our current state: Justus has an AKC Canine Good Citizen and Senior Hunter title, we now have our first German Shorthaired Pointer, Belle, home with us, as well as our first male German Shorthaired Pointer, Tux. We have a newly constructed home along with indoor-outdoor kennels, and (most importantly) we welcomed our son, Isaac, into the world on August 8, 2009. Things have been moving at a whirlwind pace over the past few years!

We now live at our family farm, a 40 acre tract that has been in the Ayres name for over thirty years. With several acres of natural grass pasture and CRP, this quail haven of Southeastern Illinois is primed and ready for hunting, training and playing with dogs.
